A fine north Wales country residence with two cottages and indoor swimming pool, previously using oil boilers, now receives all their heat and hot water from an ETA Hack 90 kW biomass boiler as part of a district heating scheme. The plant room and chip store have been installed in an existing farm building which has been modified accordingly to accommodate the plant and equipment.

Fuel requirement:

35 tonnes of G50 wood chip per annum.

Fuel Source:

The owner currently buys in wood chip from a local supplier which is tipped adjacent to the wood chip store and loaded into the store with a tractor and front end loader.

CO2 savings:

25 tonnes of CO2

50% fuel savings and return on capital of 17%
